An evening in a Ligurian vegetable garden
Time & Location
About the Event
Join us on the Cambridge Cookery School's terrace for an alfresco four-course aperitivo, this time in a Ligurian orto, or vegetable garden.
In Liguria, vegetable gardens are wonderous places: an assemble of sculpted garden terraces cultivated with not just vegetables, but also olive trees, grape vines and fruit trees of many kinds; many families will also breed chicken and rabbits for the table. Large spontaneous bushes of rosemary, sage, marjoram and thyme are scattered everywhere, and so are the wild greens when in season.
We have included in our menu a few regional favourites, such as gattafin from Levanto (fried ravioli filled with wild greens and cheese) and the famous seafood and vegetable salad from Genoa, cappon magro, together with a selection of small plates showcasing the best a Ligurian orto can offer (vegetarian menu available**), perfect for those who love to stretch their aperitif hour into dinner.
All courses (with a few surprises fuori programma) and a refreshing non-alcholic welcome drink are included in the ticket price. You will then be able to order drinks on the evening, including some pretty awesome wines and beers especially curated for us by Meadows Cambridge.
Places are limited so book yours now*.
We look forward to seeing you there!
